My office here at Pearls and Spice is one of my favourite places to be. I frequently sit back, look around and thank God for the blessing of working in such a beautiful space. It has gone through many design changes and iterations to get it right where I want it…well, for the time being anyway.
I absolutely love dressing up this space for Christmas because I get to put up my all time, most favourite, nothing short of amazing, WHITE CHRISTMAS TREE!!! Ahem – sorry, didn’t meant to yell. I just get a bit excited about this tree. I mean, just look at that gorgeousness. I found this tree at a garage sale of all places – pre-lit, fully boxed and barely used. I couldn’t believe it! I had been harassing, uh, I mean begging, uh, I mean hinting at my husband for a couple of years to get a white tree, but for some reason he said that the 3 trees, 8 garlands, and 15 bins of ornaments we already owned were enough. Grinch! So when I saw this tree for sale in the middle of July, at a garage sale of all places, I nearly fainted. I threw some money at the poor lady selling it, tucked that sucker under my arm and ran away before my husband could even say “Bah Humbug.”
I usually decorate the tree in all white, with dreamy white frosted roses scattered throughout. Instead of ribbon or garland, I’ve tucked white feather boas into the tree.
Of course the typical angel or star won’t do over here, instead there is a beautiful white bedazzled butterfly perched on top of the tree. We all know that life is better bedazzled!
A wedding cake ornament is perfect addition to this tree, especially considering the setting. I’ve been known to make a wedding cake or two in my time 😉
I now share my office space with a few of these majestic creatures. They regularly peek out to check up on my work and to make sure I’m not spending too much time on Pinterest!
A nod to something old yet again, this vintage sleigh has a temporary home on top of my bookshelf.
Next week come back and visit the blog for some great Christmas DIY’s and a beautiful Christmas table setting.
